The salsa for the chips was good. I wanted to finish it but ran out of chips. I came here looking for a huarache and it was good. I didn't notice it had no crema and maybe next time I'll add a bit. Great food but not the best huarache I have ever had. My search continues.
Overview
When you're in the mood for a hearty meal with a taste of authentic Latin American flavors, Sabor Mi Tierra is the place to visit. Located at 802 W La Palma Ave in Anaheim, CA, this cozy diner offers a vibrant, warm atmosphere that’s perfect for everything from casual lunches to family dinners. Whether you’re craving a classic Mexican dish or looking to try something new, the menu at Sabor Mi Tierra has something to satisfy every palate.
As soon as you step into the restaurant, you’re greeted with a sense of familiarity that makes it feel like home. The staff is incredibly welcoming, offering helpful suggestions based on your preferences. The ambiance is lively but relaxed, and you’ll immediately notice the colorful decor that gives the space an authentic, festive vibe.
The menu is a reflection of the rich diversity of Latin American cuisine. One standout dish is their signature Carne Asada, a perfectly grilled steak paired with fresh tortillas, rice, and beans. The flavors are bold, yet balanced, with a touch of smokiness from the grilling process that enhances the natural taste of the meat. Another must-try is the Tacos de Pescado (fish tacos), which are light, flavorful, and packed with fresh ingredients, making them a perfect option for those craving something a little lighter.
If you’re not sure where to start, the Baleadas (a traditional Honduran dish) are a crowd favorite. They come with a delicious blend of beans, cheese, sour cream, and a choice of meat, all wrapped in a warm flour tortilla. It’s a simple, yet flavorful dish that highlights the restaurant’s commitment to authentic, home-cooked meals. The generous portions at Sabor Mi Tierra ensure you won’t leave hungry, and the price is always reasonable for the quality of the food.
For those with a sweet tooth, you’re in for a treat. The Tres Leches Cake is a light, sponge-like dessert soaked in a mixture of three kinds of milk, making it irresistibly moist. The richness of the cake is perfectly balanced with the hint of sweetness, leaving you wanting just one more bite.
Sabor Mi Tierra also offers a variety of refreshing beverages to complement your meal. Their Jamaica (hibiscus water) and Horchata are homemade and provide a cool, sweet contrast to the savory dishes. If you're in the mood for something a little stronger, their margaritas are expertly crafted, with just the right amount of kick.
What really sets this place apart, though, is its dedication to bringing the flavors of Latin America to life in every dish. The ingredients are fresh, and you can tell that a lot of care goes into preparing each meal. Whether it’s the use of authentic spices or the attention to detail in presentation, it’s clear that Sabor Mi Tierra takes pride in what they do.
The restaurant’s location in Anaheim also makes it a convenient spot for both locals and tourists. If you’re planning a day out at Disneyland or exploring the area, it’s an excellent place to stop for a meal. The casual setting makes it perfect for families or groups looking for a fun, low-key dining experience.
As for the customer reviews, they speak for themselves. Many patrons rave about the consistent quality of the food, the friendly service, and the welcoming environment. One recent review praised the Pozole, noting that it’s one of the best they’ve ever tasted. Another frequent visitor mentioned how much they love the Tacos Al Pastor, describing them as flavorful, juicy, and perfectly seasoned.
While Sabor Mi Tierra offers a wide range of options, the service is also worth noting. Staff are attentive and quick to ensure your experience is nothing short of excellent. From the moment you sit down until the time you leave, you’re made to feel like a part of the family. This personalized service makes each visit even more enjoyable.

Stopped by due to the Yelp reviews. There were no tables when we go there but by the time we talked to an employee one opened up. They don’t make recommendations and the service is slow (it took 2 hours to from coming in the door to leaving) but the food is really good. We ordered a lot for our group of four (servings are large).
Menu is awesome and good is as good as the pictures but it took us 2 hours waiting because they had 1 worker for all pickups, takeout orders and sit down orders. Then 2 of our 5 items came out wrong. They were all tasty, but not what we wanted. You may think there was a communication or language issue, but we spoke English and Spanish to the server and they didn't get it.
Absolutely delicious! Definitely recommend. Came in one a Saturday early evening and it wasn’t busy at all (was seated right away). We had the Shrimp Cocktail and the Mojara plate. Both were large sizes and tasted pretty darn authentic (brought back childhood memories ) The ambiance is very chill with cute decor. Very much appreciated that the whole place was very clean too. Can’t wait to come back and try their other items!!
This place is soooooo good. I have legitimately not had a single bad thing from here. Their chilaquiles are flavorful and spicy, their molcajete is amazing, the fajitas, too. The quality is like something you would get in Mexico. They also usually give more than enough food to share. The only thing is that the music is a bit too loud and they are quite pricy. The price is worth it, though, because good Mexican food isn’t easy to come by in Orange County Edit: I tried their carne asada fries too… omg this place is AMAZING. It’s so underrated and for whatttt. It’s fireeee.
